English language challenges

The experience during this year learning English has been very good, I was able to increase my vocabulary regarding various topics with the use of blogs. Making blogs has also helped me to express myself on various topics using another language, different from the one I use daily, improving my confidence when using English to express myself. During the course of the subject, we had to make videos that helped improve other skills, such as speaking. At the time of doing these activities I noticed that I need to improve my pronunciation and writing skills in English. One way that occurs to me to improve this is by reading texts that are in English aloud and thus be able to practice my pronunciation, in addition to being able to further expand my vocabulary by identifying words that I do not know, to later look up their meaning and thus better understand the information that I am reading in addition to increasing my knowledge in vocabulary. Changes to my study programme

The subjects that we have in the degree I think are the right ones to give us the necessary tools to practice our profession, it ranges from more general topics in the first years and later they are specified in different areas of the profession. Regarding the academic load, I consider it to be very high, studying for all the subjects takes too much time, since there are too many topics that are evaluated in a single test. This means that we have little time to do other activities that we like or even spend time with our family and friends. The infrastructure of the faculty is not adequate for the number of people who attend it, the casino is too small and at lunchtime it is very difficult to find a place to sit down to eat. The bathrooms are also small and few. The use of technology in the faculty is scarce. The technology could be implemented by teachers to carry out classes different from the conventional ones. Time travel to the past or future.

I would really like to travel to the past, specifically to prehistoric times. For me it would be very interesting to be able to go back to that time, since I am very curious to know what things existed with certainty during that time  We all know about the existence of dinosaurs, it would be amazing to be able to see one with my own eyes, since it is a subject that interested me since I was little. For me it is impressive to know that creatures as peculiar and incredible as them existed. Also, during this time, the evolution of man from the monkey takes place, although there are different theories regarding evolution, this is the one that seems most interesting to me. Epochs such as the Paleolithic and the Neolithic occurred during this stage of history, it is impressive how various occurrences from these times evolved over time and led to what we have today, it is a part of history that I am passionate about, and I would like to study in more depth one day. My dream job

In the future I would like to work as a dentist, that is why I am studying dentistry. I want to be able to help people to have a good quality of life, as oral health is a very influential factor in this. To practice as a dentist, fine motor skills must be highly developed, since the area in wich one works is very small and a lot of precision is needed to work on it, in addition, one must be very careful with the comfort of our patient to generate a great experience in our dental practice. We must also have communication skills, as we have interactions with both our patients and colleagues. I would like to specialize in a specific area: Pediatric dentistry. I like the idea of working with children, to teach from an early age the importance of dental health care, in addition, children often have a wrong idea of what a dentist is like, therefore, it is very important to be empathic with them and teach them, so that they have a good experience and thus break a stereotype.  The salary o...

The best holidays ever.

  My best holidays were when I went to Coquimbo with my family in 2019. We stayed there for 4 days. We visited some beaches like Totoralillo, La herradura and La serena. I really enjoyed La herradura because the sea was too calm, that’s why is a very good place to swim. Totoralillo was amazing, I never seen a beach like that before, it´s so beautiful. The sea in La serena wasn´t calm, we couldn´t swim because of that, so if you go to La serena be caution if you want to play in the see. Also, we visit some restaurants with really good food. With my siblings we played games like beach volleyball. The weather was perfect, sunny days with a lot of wind but not cold. This were my best holydays because after a lot of time I cloud travel with my family and enjoy together. I really want to go back there someday, it´s a good place to relax and enjoy with your friends or family, I hope you can visit it too :).

Greece: A country I would like to visit

  I would like to visit Greece because I think it’s such a beautiful place with a lot of history. Greece is in the Mediterranean Sea and was very influential in ancient times. Their current language is modern Greek. Its capital is the city of Athens, which I would like to visit to. On there I would like to go to Santorini’s Island which look like a half moon and it’s a wonderful place to see the sunset and take a lot of good photos. Also, I want to visit some beaches for can enjoy the ocean. If I have the opportunity I would like to live there for a while because I think it’s a good option to know more about de the culture and the traditions of this country and learn about Greek mythology but maybe it would be a little difficult because the language could be a problem to try to communicate with the people who live there.
